An update on voting numbers

A big thanks to Richard MacLean at the Council who has just sent this through:

Greetings all – in case you all want to keep a weather eye on polling in the local elections, we’ve got this page on our website.

Hit the orange ‘view voting documents returned’ button and it’ll give you a daily update of how voting is going in Wellington City wards – and a comparison with voter turnout at the 2010 and 2007 elections.

Our Elecoral Officer, Charlie Inggs, says it’s a bit hard to spot big trends in turnout so far, partly because of changes over the years in the way NZ Post empties mailboxes and delivers the papers to the Council – but it looks like turnout in the Lambton and Southern wards is already lagging behind performance in other parts of the city.

Cheers

Richard MacLean – WCC Communications
