3 News (seriously) are reporting that Sir Michael Fowler has endorsed Jack Yan for the Mayoralty. What interesting times we live in.
“A Yan-led council would unify both the left and the right,” says Sir Michael. “It would mean a leap forward in our city’s progress, for enterprise development with a social conscience.”
Despite being on the Alliance Party list in 2008, Jack lacks any serious political experience.
Whoever our next Mayor is, they are going to face a big uphill battle to “unite the council”.
So Jack Yan is now endorsed by the loopiest Lambton Ward candidate as well as the loopiest mayoral candidate. Lucky him.
I’m also why being on the Alliance’s 2008 list would somehow suggest political experience serious or otherwise.
Oops – “I’m also WONDERING why”
The Alliance had a tough time at the polls in 2008 getting 1,909 votes. Bill and Ben thrashed them with 13,016. Perhaps Bill or Ben should have considered running in Wellington rather than comrade Jack. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_general_election,_2008

I’m not sure Mr Yan should be proud. Fowler has really disgraced himself on the campaign trail.
