Queen defers to Peck’s sage advice… or not

Labour candidate, Mark Peck, has shown real talent in getting laughably cheap headlines with his call for the Prince of Wales to stand aside as heir to the throne and let the Duke of Cambridge or his newborn son take over from the Queen.

The journo, Tim Donoghue, obviously owes Peck for some old favour from back in the day as this piece really takes the Fortnum and Mason cake.  But as they say, be careful what you wish for.

While I doubt the Queen is even aware of the existence of Mark Peck, let alone the detail of his sage, thoughtful guidance, he probably should be worried that others might be listening.

In the article Peck said the following, “… Now would be a perfect time for Charles to stand aside and let the young ones come through.” Yes Mark, now would be a good time for the older generation to stand aside and let the young ones come through.  Maybe the first to stand aside could be the re-tread candidates and former MPs so that an actual fresh crop of new councillors and Labour candidates can come through?? Great idea Mark, you show the Prince of Wales how it’s done!

So even if Her Majesty isn’t listening, will the Labour Party take heed of Peck’s advice and shift him aside so that the young ones can come through?
