Wade-Brown standing for Mayor only

Today Celia Wade-Brown has put all her cards on the table. She is so serious about standing for the mayoralty she is not going to contest her seat in the southern ward.

From the Wellingtonian story, there are also a few other candidate announcements…

Nominations do not officially open until tomorrow, but incumbent mayor Kerry Prendergast has said she would stand again, as have sitting councillors Andy Foster, Mr Pepperell and Rob Goulden.

From outside council, businessman Jack Yan has said he would stand.

Allan Probert announced this week that he would withdraw from his previously stated intention to stand for mayor and would stand for the council in the Eastern ward, where the incumbents are Leonie Gill and Rob Goulden.

Our candidates page has been updated.

  1. Hmm! It will be interesting to see where votes which would have previously been for Celia go in the Southern Ward.!
